Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When is the best time in pregnancy to take this series?
A: You can take the series at any time in pregnancy, but it is best to start the series between 20 and 34 weeks of gestation. Please schedule your first class prior to your 34th week of pregnancy to ensure your ability to complete the series.

Q: How is this class different from other birth preparation classes?
A: As a physical therapist, I offer a unique skill set to address the  musculoskeletal changes you are experiencing in pregnancy.  As a pelvic health physical therapist, I am able to help you connect to your pelvic floor in a way that will help reduce birth injuries.


Q: How do I know if I have pelvic floor issues that might make birth difficult?
A: Common indicators of a tight pelvic floor include: leakage of urine with coughing/sneezing/jumping, frequent urination, painful intercourse, constipation, and pelvic pain.

Q: How many classes are in a series and how long do they last?
A: Every series includes four two-hour classes.

Q: Are birth partners invited to attend class?  
A: Your birth partner is invited to the last class of the session. 

 

Q: What is your refund policy?

 A: Refund requests greater than 30 days before the start of class will be processed for the full amount of the course. Refund requests between 15-30 days before the start of class will be processed for 50% of the course. No refunds will be granted 14 or fewer days before the start of class.
